I shot these panoramic image overlooking Austin and the Pennybacker bridge with a Nexus 10. The app necessary for creating images like this is pre-installed on devices running Android 4.2 and higher.
If you are running an Android 4.2 or later mobile device, you can save this image and view it natively from your OS's gallery. The user interface is quite lovely.
Alternatively, follow this link to view this full 360 degree panoramic image from any modern browser. This demo won't work very fluidly on mobile devices though, and as I mentioned above, saving and running it natively on your...

See the thing is, my favorite camera is the one attached to my Samsung mobile phone. It's the most versatile device I own and the optics on the camera are just fantastic. You always hear, "it's not the camera". Well, turns out that's true :) The quality of light, of course, has the biggest impact on the quality of an image. The photographer should have something to say in the matter too of course :) :)
Join me on Instagram! I only post photos here that I've taken with my cell phone and don't edit them on a PC or anything...
I currently own a Samsung S3 btw, but some images will...

First off, I must admit that the announcement Canon's new Rebel, the T4i (known as the 650d outside of the US) took me for a complete surprise. I have certainly been known to follow the rumor mill in anticipation of new gear and cameras being released, but I really hadn't done much of that in the last few months and thus this new camera was a complete surprise to me.
The BIGGEST feature of this camera setting it apart from the competition is Canon's addition of a brand new auto-focus technology they are calling STM, which brings smooth, quiet auto-focus during video mode to a DSLR body for the very...

I wanted to share this HDR photograph of Austin's ever-changing skyline. It has been animated with the aid of HTML5, which will likely be the web's language of choice going forward. It's an absolutely amazing platform for incorporating media, both video + sound, onto the world wide web. The future of an innovative & interactive web is certainly bright!
Click on the photograph below to see it in action! (Best viewed on Chrome/Firefox. Please wait for it to completely load. It's somewhat graphic intensive, so mobile devices will have a harder time rendering it properly...)

SXSW came and went for another go-around in Austin this past week, and no surprise, it was a huge success. I was fortunate to have attended and worked the festival for three days. The following footage is all from Friday and was shot entirely from my bicycle :) The timelapse portion is a series of still photographs converted to 24p -- the slo mo stuff is 60p overcranked to 24p, and all of it was exported as a 720p file. All editing done in Premiere. Hope you enjoy it!

I recently had the good fortune of shooting this lovely couple's engagement photos in Austin. These photos were shot over two separate sessions, -- the first at scenic Mt. Bonnel overlooking Lake Austin and the Westlake Hills and the second at The Long Center in the heart of town, overlooking Austin's ever-changing skyline. I can't wait to shoot their wedding in a couple of weeks!!! Check them out... Colin + Lindsey

This camera has been greatly anticipated for months if not years now. Its predecessor, the 5dmarkII changed digital filmmaking in a dramatic way since it's arrival in 2007. Canon learned almost instantly of the endless creative doors that these cameras, with their large sensors and decades-long established line of lenses, would open to video/cinematographers and filmmakers around the world.
The new version features a new 22mp sensor (I'm glad Canon did not follow Nikon's lead and surpass 30mp, which is excessive for virtually all photographic needs ) and is said to be even better than its predecessor...
